Joshua's B-day Celebration Part 1

Holidays and b-days get more and more fun each year as the kids start to understand what they are all about. This year Joshua really understood that his b-day was a special day just for him.  He knew that he was 2 and that on his b-day he was going to be 3. Weeks leading up to his b-day kept asking when he will be 5.  One week after being 3 and he is still asking.  For some reason 5 is a big deal to him.

When I asked him what he wanted for his special b-day dinner he responded with cake.  When I told him that was for dessert and we needed to have dinner first he then said ice cream.  HA!  So we made the decision for him.  We had pizza and blueberries.  Blueberries are Joshua's favorite food.

Then we made ice cream for dessert.  When I asked what kind of ice cream we should make he said chocolate.  I listed all different options for him and he kept saying chocolate.  Yep, he is a Herr that is or sure.  When I asked what sort of mix ins we should do he said cheese.  I talked him into peanut butter instead :)

Watching the ice cream churn.

Licking the bowl.

After we were done making the ice cream I asked him what his favorite part was and he said, "taking a taste."  That's my boy!

B-day morning...

He wanted to wear his Birthday Boy button on the back of his shirt.

Omah, Papa, and G.G. came over for dinner to help celebrate the birthday boy!

Having a blast playing a balloon game with Omah.

When I told Kayla to say Happy Birthday to Joshua she looked at him and waved.  So sweet!

He was so tickled to have us sing to him.

Kayla got a cone with Greek Yogurt in it.

She is exhausted.  Demolishing a cone is hard work.

Out of all his gifts I think this singing/dancing Snoopy card from Omah and Papa was his favorite.

He opened a little hole in this present and then peeked inside before fully unwrapping it.

Testing out his new bike.

He wanted to go next door and show his cards to his buddies.

What a fun day celebrating our big 3 year old!
