A visit from some special friends

Back in Early December some of our good friends from Texas came to visit. While we LOVE LOVE LOVE living in Colorado and being so close to family we REALLY miss all of our awesome friends back in San Antonio. It was such a treat and so refreshing to be able to hang out with friends again. It was a short trip but we had a lot of fun eating, watching the babies interact, eating, sledding, eating some more and just relaxing and chatting together.

"Hey! Joshua!  Look at me!"

"What Owen?  I am looking at you but now you're ignoring me."

"How about if we both just look at our Mom and Dad and maybe they will finally get that camera out of our face?"

Then J pinches Ownen. (No joke)

"I'm sorry Owen. Can we be best friends again?"

The boys
Come back soon you guys! We miss you!

8 Months Old Already!

I have decided that I will never blink again because every time I do it seems like J-Bow is another month older.  I can't help but think how this little boy will be leaving for college in no time.  Yes, I am a little dramatic sometimes.

Here are some pictures from this past month.

Joshua's first time swimming!  He enjoyed hanging out in the water watching all the kids play.  He didn't even mind getting splashed in the face a million times by all the kids.

He claps now and it is quite possibly the cutest thing I have ever seen.  Whenever you say "yea" he starts clapping.  The other day I was cleaning his nose out which he has come to hate.  He was crying and so mad.  When I was done I did the sign for all done and said, "All done" and he started clapping.  It was pretty hilarious.  He also claps sometimes when you go get him in the morning or after a nap and when he knows he is getting ready to nurse (he has also started smacking his lips right before nursing.  Silly boy).

He has no interest in crawling yet.  He is perfectly content rolling around or sliding on the hardwood floor.
Helping Daddy shovel.
He loves watching Aspen.  He even tries to say dog when he sees her.  It comes out "do" (like dog without the g.) When we ask him "where's the doggie."  He often times will look for her.  It is fun to see him starting to understand language.
  •  He is great eater.  He nurses 4 times a day (5 if he gets up at 5 am which he still sometimes does but then goes right back to sleep) and gets solids for breakfast and dinner.  He eats anything offered to him except for plain oatmeal (it has to be mixed with something) and avocado.  I am still enjoying making his food.
  • He gives high fives.
  • He reaches out for you to hold him.  He will extend his arms and kick his feet all with a big 'ol smile on his face.  Really warms a Mama's heart.
  • All-day-long I hear "Dada Dada Dada." And all day long I say, "Dada's at work." Or "No, I'm Mama."  :)  My favorite is when he whispers Dada.  So sweet.
  • He loves rolling his tongue over his bottom teeth.  If you look closely you can see him doing it in a few of the above pictures.
  • He sleeps on his tummy about 99.9% of the time.
I say it almost every time but this stage is a lot of fun!   We can't wait for all the fun next month holds!

Always something fun going on with a baby hanging around

I rolled half way across Mama's room to play with the knobs on her dresser...

I am bored with the knobs.  Now, let me see if I can roll underneath the dresser.

HAHA I see you Mommy!

Happy 2012!

We had a big family gathering at Daniel's grandparents house over New Years Weekend.  It is always so much fun when the whole family gets together.  There is lots of great food, fun games, and much laughter.  It is even more fun now that all the cousins are starting to have babies.

We slept in the same room with Joshua and learned that he moves ian his sleep A LOT!

One morning when he woke up he was on his tummy with his head lifted looking around cooing with no idea that we were even in the room.  When I greeted from our bed he started giggling.  I think he thought it was pretty silly that we were in the same room when he woke up.

It was fun taking him into uncle Andrew and Aunt Anna's room in the mornings to wake them up.  When we did they would sing their own version of a good morning song to him which he thought was pretty special.

Aunt Anna teaching The J Man how to clap.  He thinks clapping is pretty funny.

Being silly with cousin Britain.  This kid LOVES to be hung upside down.  I think he is part monkey.

Uncle Andrew feeding Joshua.

Here are some pictures of Joshua and his cousin River.  To say that River loves babies would be an understatement.  That girl gets SO excited when she sees a baby.  She smiles, makes happy grunting noises, and tries so hard to wiggle out of your arms and lounge at the baby.  It was hilarious.

R- "OOH a baby, I want touch him."

J- "DAD, this girl is in my bubble."

J-"I'm okay now, Dad.  I think I like my cousin."

The cousins playing and sharing toys and...

...germs as we later found out when they all came down with a cold a few days later. Poor babies.

I love this picture of Joshua resting on Daniel's Grandpa.  So sweet!  Grandpa kept calling him, "Grandpa's boy."

Joshua's First Christmas

WHEW! What a busy season we are coming out of. Yes it was busy but it was also lots and lots of fun. I LOVE, absolutely LOVE the Christmas season!

This year we had my Mom and sisters over for Christmas Eve breakfast and Christmas games (Ornament scavenger hunt and a riddle game) for the girls. Then Dan’s family joined us for lunch and the Broncos game. We spent Christmas Day at Omah’s house.

I thought it was so much fun being pregnant over the holidays last year but it was even more fun celebrating the holidays with Baby J here with us.

Sydney and Brooke on their ornament hunt.
"I will just go ahead and grab this present."
"I sure do love my silly daddy!"

Digging into his stalking.

It was SO cute watching Joshua watch the train.

Hanging with Aunt Anna.

"The phone is for you Joshua."

We had a blessed a season and have so much to be thankful for.
