We had no idea that we would have to hike in 3 miles to your spot. We definitely were not prepared for this AT ALL. We all loaded what we could and we hiked and hiked and hiked until, 45 minutes later, we found our camp site. We were all exhausted, frustrated and cranky to say the least. Daniel ended up finding a short cut through the trees that made the hike to the car only 20 minutes. We still had to make what seemed like 100 trips back and forth but after that first hike in it seemed like no big deal. The kids were all rock stars and helped SO much!
The adventures continued into the night when night we realized that the pump for the air mattress never made it to the tent so we all had to take turns blowing it up. Then as we were all trying to go to sleep Joshua threw up...in the tent and it started rolling down the slant and onto our stuff. Luckily, I had a few extra towels in Lexi needed them after swimming.
I am so glad we didn't give up and just go home. We made great memories and have a fun story to tell.
Fire on the way up.
Sure was pretty which made it ALL worth it!
Levi was the keeper of the fire. He even got up at 5:30 am and got the fire all started by himself while Kayla got all our food supplies from the bear bin. Such great helpers!
They stayed very busy carving this tree. Levi said he brought his knife in case we got attacked.
I am so glad we didn't give up and just go home. We made great memories and have a fun story to tell.
