Levi's Dedication

Back in October we had Levi dedicated.  Time sort of got away from us with this one.  Usually the sweet babes being dedicated are, well, tiny little babies.  So I think Pastor Craig was a little confused as to which baby he was dedicating when we came up with our giant one year and then there was Anna and Andrew standing with us with their tiny newborn. Nevertheless, such a sweet event standing in front our church family with our own family praying for our little one and committing to raise him in the ways of the Lord and being held accountable by those we love the most.  It takes a village you know!?

The big kids were so cute during worship.  Kayla just loves singing so she thought singing in the big church was great.  After a song or two though she was asking to go to her church.  So glad they both like their classes so much.

Pastor Craig was commenting on how interested in the lights Levi was.

Daniel Turns 34

We had a fun time celebrating one of the best husbands and Daddies around.

On the day of Daniels actual b-day the kids and I celebrated him with his favorite meal...burgers and his favorite dessert...a huge chocolate chip cookie cake (actually we made two of them).

The kids were oh so excited to celebrate their Daddy.

Joshua decorating the cookie cake.  He kept himself busy for quite a while decorating.

As we were getting ready to sing happy b-day Joshua insisted that we turn off the lights because he said that is what we did last year.  Several days later I looked at pictures from last year and sure enough he was correct.  He forgets nothing!

Notice how this cake was taste tested before we even sang?  Wish I could blame this solely on the kids but Mommy and Daddy sampled it too.

Speaking of last year's b-day...

Last year's cake was taste tested too.  We must a have no self control when it comes to sweets in this house.

And oh my goodness, look how little my baby girl was.

Now back to this year's b-day.

This next picture just warm my heart.  The kids were just so happy it was Daddy's birthday.  They were beaming with pride for him.  Kayla kept randomly telling him, "Happy 'dirt' day Daddy."

Watching Daddy open his present.

Two days later Omah and Papa took the kids so Mommy and Daddy could celebrate at Texas Roadhouse together...alone...just us two...no kids :)

The next day we all went to Omah and Papa's to celebrate Daddy again and watch the Broncos.  Joshua thought because this was his 2nd time celebrating Daddy that he was now turning 35.

Kayla knew we were going to be celebrating Daddy at Omah and Papa's house so when I was loading her up the previous night for our date night she just started randomly singing Happy "Dirt" Day to Daddy.

Another funny is when we were talking about how Daddy is "old" Joshua asked in seriousness, "Is he going to die soon?"  He knows when people get old they die.  I had to quick reassure him that Daddy really wasn't old.
Omah trying to get a song of Happy Birthday started but her effort was quickly interrupted by a good play.

Happiest b-day to the one who loves with all that he is, serves his family with a happy heart, and plays with his kids like he is one himself.  We love you!

October Update

Kayla:
*I noticed this month that she has such practical nicknames for some of her babies.  She has PJ baby (baby wears pjs), cold baby (an all plastic baby that she undresses to take swimming or in the bath so naturally it is cold baby since it probably gets cold being naked). There is grandpa Bobby's Baby which is the baby Grandpa Bobbly gave to her.
* She is just so much fun and so full of joy and sweetness.
*She likes to play house and be people we know.  For example she will tell me, "I'm Ms. Caley, Joshua is Bobby and this (her baby) is Cody." Caley, Bobby, and Cody are neighbors.  They also play Aunt Anna (Kayla), Uncle Shawn (Joshua) and her babies are Noah and Giovanni.

Levi:
*Levi is everywhere and into everything.
*He is a climber.  He climbs on to the Joshua and Kayla's small chair, then on to the end table and on to the couch and then laughs and laughs after I run to get him.
*He likes to cover up his face for us to play peek-a-boo with him.

Joshua:
*Joshua had his first nightmare that caused him to get out of bed and come into our room.  After several times of talking to him, praying with him and putting him back in bed we finally just let him sleep on our bedroom floor.  He has been hesitant about bed time a few times since then but we are working with him on how to be brave and overcome fear.
* Joshua's latest thing is to ask how many more days and how many more minutes.  "How many more days until my b-day?  How many more days until Christmas?  How many more days until we can put up the Christmas tree."  Or we have conversations like this, J- "how many more minutes until I can go outside?" Me- "10."  "How many times do I have to count to 10?"  Me- "you count to 60 10 times."
*When asking for something he randomly on his own, started using the statement "May I...." instead of "can I..."  After seeing how much Daniel and I really liked that he has now started asking us to do thing by saying, "Mommy, may you..." instead of "Mommy will you..."  It cracks me up every time.
*One morning he told me he finished his smoothie. I knew he didn't so I asked, "are you being truthful?"  And he said with a sheepish grin, "No I am being trickful."  AHHH his whit kills me.
*we have been working on initiate and so now when he does something without being asked he likes to proudly announce, "Mommy I had initiative."

Here is how Levi spends most his days.  He sure does keep my busy.

Uncle Dave came to visit and Joshua had a blast with him.

Tent building is a still a favorite around here.  Joshua will even draw out a plan before he builds sometimes.  The neighbors love his creative imagination and just today one neighbor dropped off some scrap trimming for Joshua because she knew he would find something neat to do with it.

Joshua randomly got a fever one morning, felt miserable, fell asleep on the couch and was just so pitiful.  Then by late afternoon, fever was gone and he was as good as new.  So weird.

This poor baby got a cold while teething.  He had a rough few days and just wanted to be held.  I had to put this big boy in a the carrier to get some stuff done.

Notice the baby in the high chair.  Such a good little Mommy.

Giving each other high fives on the swings.

Kayla's best friend across the street had her 2nd b-day.  Kayla loved celebrating her.

He learned how to blow the recorder.  He blows, giggles and repeats.

Going for a wagon ride.

Kayla loves playing grocery store.  She brings me all her goodies, I ring them up and bag them and she puts them in her "cart" and off she goes.  As we set up to play she tells me, "you be the person cashier)."

I took Levi to the doc for his 12 months check up while the other two were at Omah's for the day.  One kid at the doctors office and I felt like I was on vacation.

Doing walk the dog with Joshua's yo-yo.

Bath time crazy fun!

Color explosion science experiment.

The cutest crack I've ever seen.

Feeding the ducks.
J put bread on the end of his stick so he could fish for ducks.

She picked up the bat and declared, "I'm bat girl!"

Wildlife Museum.

Kayla and her baby at the museum.

If you can, picture this...Daddy is out of town so Mom is already a little cray, tired, ready for a break, and frazzled.  I am trying to get all three kids out the door when I notice Levi is missing a sock which I knew he just had.  I am running around the downstairs like a mad woman saying to the kids, "has anyone seen Levi's sock? Where is Levi's sock?  Help me find Levi's sock."  And of course we find it in the toilet where he was just putting his hands in shortly before.  Of course, the toilet is one of his favorite things to play with.

I got Levi some new socks, loaded the kids and off to CFA we went because cooking every night is not really high on my list when Daddy is out of town.

I love Kayla's expression here.  All of the kids loved the cow.  Every time he walked by they would go up and hug him and give him high fives.

Levi kept giving him big smiles.

This goofball loves to do this while eating.

Story time.

Kayla was so cute following all her teachers moves.

Kayla sang Dem Bones at the Library and loved it.  After we sang it for Joshua it quickly became their new favorite song.  I found a cute version on youtube that they love watching.  I took this opportunity to teach them about our bones and we did this craft which is too cute not to share.

I made Kayla her own baby carrier out of an old t-shirt and she just loves it!  It is so cute seeing her outside playing with a baby hanging on her.

"Bobbing" for apples.

Working out with Mom.

We made spider webs one day and Joshua decided to tape his to the deck to see if he could catch any flies in it.

Can you spot the cute boy?  It was pretty cold this morning but it didn't stop him from bundling up to go snake hunting.

Daniel always tells me how Kayla loves doing all the things I do and she sure does.  Here she is having a ball doing the dishes.

Proof that kids don't need expensive toys.  Levi's most favorite thing this past month has been chewing on his toothbrush and this empty M&M's container.

"I'm Dr. Rock-Ski."  (Dr. Milobsky)

She was doing school with bear.  If you look closely you can see that she is making bear hold the marker.

Love this outfit.  Totally an Aunt Sydney outfit.

Making his own sandwich.

Playing hide and go seek.  I thought I had the best hiding spot ever but I was found by Joshua in like 3 seconds.
Jeremiah's dedication.

Rock hunting with Daddy.

Having school in their tent...in pj's...and underwear :) #homeschoollife
Speaking of homeschooling, Joshua and another girl were playing so well together at the park.  An older boy asked if they were siblings.  Then he asked if they went to the same school to which Joshua proudly replied, "I homeschool."

Watching Aunt Sydney play Volleyball at my old high school.  Walking through those halls with my kids was quite the experience.

Joshua was so serious taking it all in.

Kayla on the other hand spent most the time clapping and yelling, "Go Aunt Sydney."

Zoo trip.  This was Levi's first time to visit the zoo.
Kayla's little lovey is a polar bear so naturally she thought it was so neat to see a real polar bear.  He sure put on a show for us.  He kept pacing by the water and then finally got in and just kept swimming laps, doing rolls, and going under the water fall.

The lion was another favorite.  The kids loved how he got up and walked around and got real close to them by the glass.

Levi watching the lion.  He was so much fun to watch and was so into the animals.  We knew he really liked an animal when he would say, "oohh."
