Joshua's 15 Month Update

 
That sweet face above is 15 months old!  This little boy keeps us on our toes and laughing all day long (well almost all day long) with all his silly antics.  He surely does not lack in the personality department. 

Here is an update at what Joshua is up to at 15 months:

• Well baby stats: He is 32 inches tall (75%), weighs 23 lbs 11.5 oz (25-50%) and his head is 19 inches (75%-90%)...must be all that hair ;)
• His vocabulary is exploding.  Seems like he says a new word everyday.  Albeit most words are only understandable to us.   
• My favorite thing that he does these days is when he wants you to pick him up he walks over to you and whispers, yes whispers, "pu, pu pu" which is his way of saying up.
• He really enjoys books, dancing, and singing
• He is officially weaned!  
• He is still taking 2 solid naps a day. 
• He loves to initiate games of peek-a-boo
• He whistles
• Another one of my favorite things that he does is he loves to hold your hand when walking. He will stop and hold up his hand for you to take it.  And if there is more than one person walking with him he will hold out his other hand for the other person.

He loves going down the "lide." He started going backwards on his own and even goes down the big twisty ones.

 

He knows no stranger under 4 feet tall. If you are under 4 feet and Joshua sees you he will chase you down for a hug.

We got him this slide to give him something appropriate to climb on and he loves it.  The first day he played with it he climbed up and slid down all.day.long.  Climb up, slide down and repeat 203 times.  It was great entertainment for all of us!



What a fun 15 months it has been with you Joshua.  You bring us and everyone around you much joy and we are looking forward to watching you as continue to grow and learn. 

 



Camping Trip

A couple of weeks ago we did a 4 day extended family camping trip and had a blast!  Those with small babies (and a broken foot) slept in a cabin while the rest of the family either slept in tents or on air mattress in their van.

I was a little nervous about Joshua being out of routine for several days but he did excellent.  We kept him on schedule as much as we could and during the times when we couldn't he did really well.  Now that he is older he is definitely more flexible.

Our first adventure was hiking Adam's falls which was awesome.  I love water falls.

Joshua loves the backpack carrier.  Every time we would stop he would bounce up and down as a way of saying, "come on,

keep walking."

Daniel's cousin brought their dog which has got to be the sweetest dog.  She is so calm and GREAT with the kids.  She lets them do ANYTHING to her.  Joshua loves dogs so it was such a treat for him to have a dog around that he could love on anytime he wanted.

While playing on our bed in the cabin he fell in between the wall and bed and thought it was funny.  Afterwards he would scoot real close to the wall and actually try to fall again.

Our next big adventure was taking Joshua out on the canoe.  It was windy so the water was choppy making this the most nerve wracking canoe ride.  But Joshua sure did enjoy it.  The next day I took him down to the lake and he immediately pointed to the water and said, "boat!"

The day before we left we went to the swim beach.  The weather was a bit chilly and the water was pretty cold but the babies didn't seem to mind.

One lady asked me if they were twins.

Joshua got his first taste of bacon while camping and he loved it.  He would take a bite and then start dancing.

Joshua loves hats.  He loves taking other's people hats off and either putting them back on or putting it on his own head.  Here he is trying to put his own hat on...

Joshua has recently started doing some of the hand motions to the "Itsy Bitsy Spider."

We had a fabulous time but were so happy to get home, take showers, and sleep in our own beds.  When we laid Joshua down for the night he started rubbing his legs on his bed and smiling like he was saying, "aahh my own bed."  He slept in an extra hour and a half the next morning.
