Levi's 4 Month Update

Awe, this boy!  He is just the sweetest thing ever.   When I go to bed at night I seriously miss him and I look forward to holding him again in the wee hours of the night.

Here is what he is doing at 4 months old.

4 Month check up.

I was going to take Levi to his appointments while J and K stayed home with Daniel but Joshua asked if he could come.  When I asked him why he wanted to come he said, "Because I will miss you."  As sweet as that was I really think he wanted to come so he could comfort Levi after he got his shots (it was right after I told him Levi was getting shots that he said he wanted to come).  And comfort him he did.  As I was holding and comforting Levi after the shots Joshua was hugging him as well telling him that it was going to be okay.  What a great big brother.

Joshua proudly told the nurse, "He got a haircut!"

Our normal doctor was out of the office for the day so we saw a different doc and this was our first time seeing her.  She commented on how laid back he is and kept talking about how advanced and social he is.  She also commenter on how big his head was, HEE-HEE! All our babies have big heads.  The doctor said he was growing and developing beautifully!

Well baby stats...

Weight:  16lbs 1.5 oz  (70%) Joshua's prediction was 50lbs, LOL!
Height: 25 1/2 inches (75%)
Head:  17.5 inches (>97%) See, big head!

*Rolling- I've seen him roll from tummy to back 1 time.  The other times I am not sure if he did it on his own or if he had a little assistance from his big bro.  I haven't seen him roll from back to tummy yet but according to Joshua, he does it all on his own.  Again, I think he might be getting a little assistance.

He usually ends up like this and then
doesn't know what to do with that arm of his.

* He loves blwoing spit bubbles and it makes us all laugh.

* He is super happy and smiles the biggest smiles all day long!

* He takes 3-4 naps a day and is still a great nurser.  He is still being swaddled.  We've tried swaddling with arm out but he isn't ready to ditch the swaddle just yet.

* J just loves Levi so much.  He seeks him out first thing in the morning to love on him and he tells him sweet things like, "I want to love you forever."  He really has such genuine joy.  I love watching Levi smile at Joshua.  Kayla is sort of natural.  Some days she acts like he isn't here and other times she will wave and say, "Hi baby" and give him kisses.

*When I read to him he stares at the pictures like he is taking it all in.

* He belly laughs so much and it isn't very hard to get him to laugh.

Giving a pretend bath to Levi and her baby.

Sibling love.

Joshua made a fort just for Levi.

First time sitting in the Bumbo.

Then of course the other two wanted to try it out.

"Uh Mom, I thought you said these things were extinct?!?!"

My yongest and my oldest.

As I posted before Levi went through a stage where almost every morning he would wake during the 5am hour and only go back to sleep if I held him.  He no longer does that but there was one morning this past month where he did revert back to that habit and I brought him into bed with me.  Daniel and I always talk about things that our kids do and how one of the times it will be their last to do something and we dont know which time that will be.  So I took a picture of this in case it was the last itme we did this so I would always remember it.

He loves sucking his fingers...

...and hands...

...and, well pretty much anything he can get into his mouth.

We can't say it enough but we love, love, love this little guy!

A Moment I Will Always Remember

Yesterday Levi had an off day.  He was a little fussy, which is out of character for him, and he wasn't napping as well as he normally does.  He woke up 20 minutes into one of his naps and wouldn't go back to sleep.

I love routine and schedules and I strongly dislike it when something throws my routine off.  However, this isn't my first rodeo and I am well aware of how kids can so easily throw a wrench in your plans and I am learning to be a lot more laid back about things.  I think I even sang the line, "Let it go, let it go" a couple of times to diffuse my stress :)

So I got him up and of course he was all smiles.  We spent some quiet time together while the other 2 napped.  We cuddled, talked and smiled at each other.  It was one of those sweet moments where it felt like we were the only two people in the world.  I was reminded how fast he is growing and that he will not be this size for much longer.  I just wanted to take it all in and cherish this moment with my boy forever.

I took this picture during our special time together so I
would always remember this moment.

How an Almost 2 Year Old Plays with a 4 Month Old

"How about if I just pick up this block and set it right here on Levi?!"

"There!"

"What Mom? I don't know how that block got there."

"No more pictures please.  I don't want them to be used against me someday."

Merry Christmas-2014

We had a very busy three days of celebrating Christmas with family but it was oh so fun and very Merry.

We kicked off our Christmas celebrations by spending 2 days at Omah and Papa's house with Uncle Shawn, Aunt Anna, Noah, Giovanni, G.G., Aunt Anna and Uncle Andrew.  Joshua couldn't have been more excited to see his cousins.

A look into the future...Anna and Andrew announced they
are expecting in Aug!  This will be them next
Christmas except their baby will be about 1 month older.

As Kayla was reading this book by herself I took a picture of her.  After I snapped the picture she said, "more."  When I asked her if she wanted me to take her picture again she said yes and then went back to reading as if she was posing.  What a ham!

My favorite part was watching all the cousins open their stockings.

Christmas gets more and more fun each year as all the kids get older.  It was fun to see youngest cousins really enjoying opening gifts because they saw their older siblings doing it and they knew it was something fun.  At one point it had been a while since Kayla got a present to open and all the big kids were opening theirs and she walked up to me and said, "my turn."

Showing off his new golf clubs.

On Christmas morning we did breakfast and presents at our house with just us 5, well 4 really since Levi was napping for most of it.
My favorite things as a kid and even a teenager was seeing an unwrapped gift
on Christmas morning.  So I am passing on the tradition with my kids.

I was too busy taking video of their reaction when they saw their presents that I don't have any good pictures so you will just have to trust me that their faces were priceless!  Right when Kayla turned the corner into the living room her face lit up, she dropped her blanket and bear and ran right over.  Joshua's just sort of giggled and pointed to the gifts.  Once he discovered the rocking horse he pointed it out to Kayla.
We had to find Baby Jesus first because we can't have Christmas without Jesus.

Kayla LOVES this horse.  She will walk up to it and
give it hugs and kisses.

She refused to get off her horse and open presents for a while.

This year we started a new Christmas breakfast tradition of putting sprinkles in our oatmeal.  The kids loved it and thought it was so neat how the sprinkles melted and made a swirl of different colors.  The kids liked it so much that I think we might make it a holiday breakfast tradition.

The gift he is opening in the picture is something I picked up f
rom a garage sale early in the summer.  We played with it once
but he wasn't the interested so I put it up to give it to him for Christmas.
When he opened it he said, "I remember this!"  Of course
he does, his memory is amazing!

Kayla loves all of her baby stuff and it is so much
fun watching her act like a little Mommy.

After Levi's morning nap we headed over to my Mom's house where we had a big brunch and played games.

Nothing says Merry Christmas like eating corndogs for dinner :)  Redneck?  Maybe.

All her presents and she chose to play with dish gloves :)

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!  XOXO!
