Levi's 7 Month Update

This sweet, adorable, and silly little boy is 7 months old.  He seriously went down for nap a baby and woke up a toddler one day.  Where does the time go?  This is such a fun age.  Here is what our little man is up to.

*He likes being read to.  When we read to him kicks his little legs in excitement and loves touching all the pages.

*Sleep?  Well it was going pretty good but now he is back to waking twice a night most nights.  We are in the process of breaking that first night waking habit.

*His schedule is pretty predicable.  He nurses 5 times during the day, eats solids twice, and takes 3 naps a day.

*He got his two bottom teeth.

*In the mornings I bring him into bed and we snuggle for a few minutes before I nurse him and he just loves it.  You can tell that it makes him feel so special.

* I think his favorite part of the day is right before bed.  When we lay him on the changing table to put his pj's on he seriously just starts cracking up for no reason at all.  It is hilarious!

*When I start singing to him right before I lay him down for bed or nap he immediately lays his head on my shoulder and pops up to smile at me every few seconds.  He is such a cuddle bug.

*Kayla is becoming more and more interactive with him and he loves when she plays with him.  He just gets so happy.  My favorite is when she plays peek-a-boo with him and tries to cheer him up when he is fussy.  One day Levi was in my lap and Kayla was sitting right next to us.  I asked her if I could give Levi her bear and she said yes.  When I did, Levi lit up, squealed and kept looking at Kayla smiling like he knew it was her special bear.  PRECIOUS!!!

So  happy to have big sister in his crib.

His smile is the best!
We went for a short walk and it was super windy
but he thought the wind in his face was so funny.

Oh you know, you just put whatever is in reach in your mouth.

My book worm.

I love this view when I first walk into his room to get him.  He is straining his neck as high as he can to peer over the crib to see who is coming to get him...

...and he always has a smile for whoever is there to greet him.

Playing with sissy on the couch.

Splish splash!

Working on drinking form a sippy cup.

We are all just loving this little guy so much!

Levi at 6 Months

My littlest baby is 6 months old and just sweet as can be.  Here is his update.

Well baby stats:
Height- 27 1/4 inches (65%)
Weight- 18 lbs (60%) *He is only 6 lbs behind his big sister.*
Head- 18 inches (95%)

*He is rolling from both ways.

*He gets solids once a day and seems to enjoy them.

*We constantly hear how happy and laid back he is.  I often hear, "He never cries!"  And really, he doesn't unless he is tired or hungry.  He is just so laid back and easy going.  I guess that comes with being a 3rd baby.

*He didn't cry at all when he got his shot at his well baby check up.  Didn't I say he was laid back and rarely cries?!?!

*SLEEP!!!  He is finally sleeping better at night.  He goes 9-10 hours at night before waking to eat.  It feels so nice to finally be able to get a good chunk of sleep again

You can't really tell in the picture put he's sucking those little fingers.

*He laughs at Joshua for no reason at all.  He will just look at him and start belly laughing.  I have heard him doing it in the car a few times and when I check in the mirror Joshua isn't doing anything.

*He went from thumb sucker to finger sucker.  I call it his rock star fingers.

*He loves watching his siblings.  He gets so happy when either of them talk to him.

Easter 2015

We celebrated Easter all weekend long.

We started Saturday morning with just our little family at our house.  We made resurrection rolls for breakfast, hunted for resurrection eggs, then sent the kids on a treasure hunt for their baskets.

Resurrection eggs.  Joshua opened the first one up which had a palm branch in it and he immediately
started waving it and saying, "hosanna!"  My heart was so happy to see that he had retained the information we had been learning the weeks leading up to Easter.

Next up was a treasure hunt to find their baskets.  We should have explained this better to Joshua.  He was expecting the eggs to have treats in them not paper clues.  He was a little disappointed.  Meanwhile, Kayla happened to see the baskets before the hunt even started so she was crying, "treat, treat" the whole time.  But they both pulled themselves together and all was more than okay once their baskets were found.

This pictures cracks me up.  The final clue was, "Where does Mommy bake muffins?"  Joshua ran to the oven, looked on top, looked on the counter on the left, then the right.  Meanwhile Kayla is looking at the baskets.

He finally owns his own copy of the Land Before Time. Right when he saw it he picked it up and hugged it.  I think it was his favorite item.

Kayla's favorite thing was her chap stick.

Then we got ready for the day and headed out to Aunt Diane's house for lots of fun with the extended family.  Joshua was beyond excited to see his cousins.  The night before he joyfully told us, "it's bedtime!!!!"  It wasn't quite bedtime yet and he couldn't have been that tired since he took a 3 hour nap and had only been up for about 2 hours.  We tell him that time goes by faster when you sleep so he just wanted to get to sleep so the next day would come!

Joshua sure does love his big cousins.  He has even named two
of his stuffed animals after them.

They love wrestling and the older kids are so good with the little kids.  Here they are letting the littles tackle them.

Kayla really enjoyed dying eggs.  She kept stirring and checking her egg.  She tried tasting the water a few times.  When we would tell her no she would say, "Tend?" (pretend).  By the end her hands were all pink from sticking them both in the dye.

 The hunt is on!

Love his face!

After their egg hunt the kids wanted to hide the eggs for the adults to find.

Both kids missed their naps in order to be able to partake in all the festivities.  Around 3:30 Joshua told me, "I am ready for a nap now."  Then he cried because he couldn't take one since we were getting ready to leave.  When I told Kayla we were going to go home she said, "night night!"  I love that we have kids who love their sleep.
She passed out before we were even out of the neighborhood.

We spent the next day at my Mom's house with more food, egg dying and Easter egg hunts.

Here are my two cute little helpers helping me make whip cream for Easter dessert.

We gotta taste test everything to make sure it is good.

My best attempt at getting some cute Easter Pictures.  Everyone was much more interested in eating the jelly beans I bribed them with.

 Hunting for eggs.

Easter always reminds me of these two memories....

Kayla's first Easter, only 3 days only.

And the Easter Joshua decided to go hiking in Omah and Papa's backyard and when we went to check on him he was no where to be found.  After several minutes of panicking (which felt like hours) we found him watching an old black and white movie with G.G.

Such a fun time celebrating this special holiday and all that Jesus accomplished for us on the cross!
