Dr. Kayla

Levi is Dr. Kayla's best patient ever.  I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

He sits nice and still so she can get a good look in his ears.

He opens his mouth real big so she can check his throat.

He even tolerates a shot in the ear.

After all that, he is still all smiles!

Levi's First Trip to Holyoke

We spent two days and one night in Holyoke celebrating Grandpa Lutze's 92nd b-day.

It was so nice to see family that we don't see on a regular basis and so much fun watching all the cousins play together.

Papa rode up with us...just like this.  The kids couldn't get over Papa
riding in the back.  Joshua was really concerned about us getting a
ticket, Papa being safe, and tried thinking of ways we could make Papa a seat belt.

Grandpa had Valentine's candy ready for the kids when we got there.

Happy Birthday!

Grocery store run.

Joshua got to drive Grandpa's pickup truck.

Wrestling with cousins was Joshua's favorite thing.  He loves wresting and the older boys were so good about not hurting him.  When someone mentioned taking a break form wrestling Joshua shouted, "NEVER!!!"

A little blurry but still such a sweet picture of Kayla and River.

Grandpa's first time holding his newest Great Grandson.

Joshua and River enjoying their "morning coffee."  Or
what us grownups call juice :)  Joshua thought it was so neat to
be drinking out of a coffee cup.

Kayla's favorite activity was playing upstairs.  She would go from room to room and lay different babies down "night-night" and then go wake them up.

We tried letting all the cousins (except Kayla and Levi) sleep together on the floor in the basement.  What a disaster that turned out to be.  Joshua and Zechariah kept getting up and running around.  The big cousins were getting a little annoyed and no one was getting any sleep.  There was lots of tattling going on.  We finally moved Joshua to Kayla's room but he was unhappy there because Kayla kept talking.  After playing musical beds and crying that he wanted to sleep at home he ended up in our room on the floor.

After 2 days of no naps, going to bed late, getting interrupted sleep since Levi was also in our room and was up in the night, playing hard, and eating lots of sugar, he crashed in the car on the way home.

Kayla took a good nap before we left for home so she stayed up the whole car trip home.

Just relaxing watching a show on the Kindle while brother naps.

We always leave Holyoke with such great memories created.  The kids just love it there as Daniel did growing up.

Levi's First Haircut

Our sweet little Alfalfa boy got his first haircut.

His alfalfa sprout was getting longer and longer and refused to lay down and the hair on the side was growing over his ears.  I found myself tucking it behind his ears.  It was also getting long in the back.  So Daddy decided it was time. I thought we were going to do a little trim with the scissors but Daniel, being an Air Force Veteran, busted out the buzzer.  I should have known that was coming form Joshua's first haircut.

Here is the before of his back.

The kids were both so excited.  Joshua just couldn't believe
 Levi was old enough for a haircut. (disclaimer, they aren't totally naked;
one is wearing underwear and the other a diaper...I think anyway).

Levi didn't once protest his haircut.  He sat like the little angel boy
he is for the whole thing.  Good thing too because if he is anything
like his big bro he has plenty more haircuts in his future.

And the after.  He is so handsome!

I really do love his new haircut but I must say I was a little sad to see the crazy hair go.  I didn't realize how much I stroked and ran my fingers through the alfalfa sprout while I nurse him.

I didn't get a good before so here are a few so I can always remember what it looked lie before.

See it sticking up?

There it is again.

Starting to grow over his ears.

January 2015

Some pictures from January.

When I was a kid I loved eating smoked oysters right from the can.
I've been known to buy some as an adult a time or two (or more) to enjoy.
I gave some to Kayla and she couldn't get enough.

She loves to stand with her legs far apart and say, "bridge."

Kayla loves the dollhouse her and J got from Omah and Papa for Christmas.  She is so much fun to watch as she puts the people to bed, makes them sit at the table to eat and my favorite is when she comforts them when they cry.  Or as Kayla tells us, "cying."

Shhing the "cying" doll.

Enjoying some sunshine.

Kayla never misses an opportunity to help me give Levi a bath.
She also likes giving her baby a bath.

Playing in Mom's cupboards is always so much more
fun than playing with their own toys.

Bible reading time.

One of Kayla's favorite activities lately is playing with paper cups.

Jake the Pirate.

She loves trying to put her (or anyone's really) clothes on.

This is what bedtime story time has been looking like lately.
Joshua gives everyone their own book to read.

Making volcanoes never gets old.

Joshua is really into dinosaurs.  He is especially fond of the t-rex.  He walks around daily roaring ;) Here are the kids making "fossils" with play doh.

In true Mama fashion, she's got her hands full.

Why push your babies in a stroller when you can push them in a dump truck.

Eating snack while watching youtube videos of different animals.
Kayla can't get over how elephants use their trunks to eat and drink.

If you give a toddler a box she will make a bed and pretend to go "night-night."

filling up his dump truck with mud.

Kayla and Mommy Ice cream date.

Aunt Diane took the three little cousins for the day.  They had
lunch at CFA and then rode the "train" to downtown Denver to
get ice cream.  Joshua had such a great time is still talking about it.

Kayla can almost always be spotted carrying around a "purse."
Here she is wearing Joshua's lunchbox as a purse.

J's lunchbox again.  It always has to be his even though she has her own Hello Kitty one.

Wearing the chalk bucket as a purse while mowing the lawn.  Of course!
While J was having his fun day with Aunt Diane I took
Kayla to get a real purse.  She picked out Minnie Mouse
and just loves it.  She carries it everywhere.
When I showed her that my purse has a zipper
on it like hers she lit up.

Playing at Omah and Papa's house.  The kids still continue to go over to Omah and Papa's every week to spend the whole day and some weeks they even have a sleepover giving Mommy and Daddy a much needed break.   It is the weirdest things when I walk passed their rooms in the middle of the night after feeding Levi to see their doors open.  They have such a good time and always get so excited when I tell them about an upcoming Omah and Papa day.

Joshua's January creations...
He built this Lincoln Log house all by himself.

Magnetic TP marble (pom-pom) run.

Instead of napping one day he set up all his books in his room.

Just some dinos hanging around.
