Kayla's 10 Month Update

Happy 10 Months to this sweet girl!

I am not sure when Kayla grew up but she did and here is her 10 month update...

*She LOVES food and is such a good eater.  She gets so excited when she eats and will often make happy sounds and twirl her wrist through her whole meal.  She is starting to eat more and more table foods.  She especially loves pasta.  Joshua gets a kick out of her eating mac and cheese with him.

Her first pancake.

*She is such an independent baby.  She spends most of her day crawling around the house going from room to room and toy to toy.  She has recently discovered she can crawl up the stairs.

Her very fist climb up the stairs and she was cracking up the entire time!
Joshua was at the top encouraging her.  So sweet!

*She loves when she gets her hands on her brothers Poor Dog and baby.  When she sees them on the floor she crawls over to them and gets so tickled.

She often either lays on Poor Dog or picks him up and hugs him.

*She loves dogs!

*She loves bath time.  Daniel is always so soaked after giving her a bath because she just splashes the whole time.

*She bounces to the music that her toys play.  Especially this play table.

*She loves her naps.  Right now she takes 2 naps.  The first on is 1-1.5 hours and the 2nd one is 3, sometimes 4, hours long!

*She wakes up so happy and lays in her crib talking and blowing raspberries.  When I walk in to get her she gets the biggest smile on her face and kicks her little legs so fast.

*She has MUCH better things to do with her time than to lay still to have her diaper change.

*She was 5 teeth and is working really hard on a 6th one.  They seemed to just start coming in all at once all of sudden and boy it is wrecking havoc on every one's night time sleep.

*She adores her big brother!  Just today when I was laying her down for a nap Joshua walked into her room and she just about lunged out of my arms towards him and then started laughing while just staring at Joshua.  I love watching them play together.  He daily makes her crack up and it is so cute!

And now for more pictures from this past month.

He told me, "We are snuggling!"

Daddy's prettiest fan!

She was so cute crawling towards the b-ball game.  She would crawl, stop,
and then wave towards the players.

She heard her brother playing in another room and crawled
over to the door like she was trying to get to him.

My little helper,

We are all just so in love with this little girl!  She is as sweet and content as they come (with the biggest, brightest, prettiest blue eyes I might add)!

Snowman in a Jar Science Experiement

During a recent snow day Joshua and I did a science experiment.  We spooned snow into two snowman jars.  Then we put one snowman outside and kept one in the house to see which one would melt first.  About 1 hour later the melted snowman on the counter caught his eye and he exclaimed, "The snowman melted!"  Then he went to check the one on the front porch.

So proud of his creation!

He was so cute checking on the outside snowman all through out the day and was so surprised when it was still frozen each time he checked.

One of the first things he asked Daniel when he got home from work was, "Which snowman do you think melted?"

One of my favorite things from this experiment was hearing him say the word "hypothesis."   You better believe that Joshua is so smart that I guarantee we will hear him use the word hypothesis all on his own and in the right context.  I just love this kids love of learning!

Christmas 2013-Kayla's First Christmas

We started the Christmas season out by spending two days and one night in Holyoke visiting Grandpa Lutze.

We have a Christmas count down calendar that Joshua moved every morning and every morning I would point to the 21st and tell Joshua that when our snowman gets to that day we are going to go to Holyoke.  So when I went in to his room to get him up the morning we were leaving the first thing he said to me was, "It's Holyoke time!"  He was so excited.  As we were getting ready to leave he said, "Grandpa is saying, 'where is Joshua?'"  He also told me, "we have to go move our snowman!"

I packed a bag full of activities for the three hour car ride and for the most part both kids did really well. Kayla started fussing towards the end of the trip.  When I put my hand back to comfort her she started yanking on it as if to say, "PLEASE! Get me out of my car seat."

When Kayla was getting fussy Joshua gave her his tractor to play with.  This tractor calmed her right down and kept her entertained for the rest of the trip.  She was happy as a clam playing with her big brother's toy.
Aunt Joan and Kayla.

Kayla Army Crawled right on over to say hi to Grandpa.

Around noon my Mom and sisters came over.  We played games, had dinner and exchanged gifts.

Joshua and Mimi played this game where Mimi would give Joshua a kiss and then he would wipe it off and then crack up. He thought it was hilarious!

Kayla loved playing with Aspen!  When she would spot Aspen across the room she would book it to get over to her.

Kayla learned how to clap on Christmas Eve so she spent most of Christmas Eve and Christmas randomly clapping.  It was SO cute!
