Things to do while waiting for the doctor

What?  Is this paper not here for me to rip up while I wait for my doctor? 

10 minutes later, still no doctor and almost no more paper for me to rip up.

Nine Months Old

How can it be that my sweet tiny newborn is nine months old already?  NINE MONTHS!!!! (said in a Monica voice for all my Friends fans) nine months sure goes by much faster with him here than it does being pregnant.

Joshua continues to be a a really laid back baby.  He is easy going, rarely gets upset, and is easily consoled.  He nurses 4-5 times a day, gets solids 3 times a day, and takes 2 naps with a very occasional 3rd catnap. 

Stats:

• Height: 28.75 inches (75%)
• Weight: 19 lbs 13.5 oz (50%)
• Head Circumference: 46 inches (75%)

Milestones:

• Holds himself in a standing position
• Points with his pointer finger
• Army crawls
• Waves

Antics: 

• Makes an excited "Oh Oh Oh" sound when he sees something he likes
• He sometimes gives kisses.  And by kisses I mean he slobbers all over your check when you say "kisses."
• Makes a cute scrunchy face and breathes real fast through his nose when he thinks something is funny.
• When he wants Daddy's attention he looks at him and makes high pitched noises until Daniel looks at him.
• He is learning more and more words everyday.  When you ask him where something is  (fan, dog, Mama's nose) he will look around to find the object and sometimes points to it. 
• When you ask him, "can you say hi" he waves
• When I read to him while sitting next to him he tries to crawl in my lap.  I LOVE it!

Looking up at the ceiling fan which he still LOVES.  He especially loves pulling the pull chain to make the light turn on and off. 

 

He still hasn't quite figured out what to do with finger foods.  He likes to smear them all around his tray and makes a big 'ol mess.  When one makes its way into his mouth he just holds the food on his tongue, acts like he is chocking, and drools like crazy.  So dramatic!  I just might be sending this boy off to college with his baby bullet so he can puree all his foods ;)

The Best Dad Around!

Can I just say that Joshua has one awesome Daddy!  He is so involved, so helpful, and so in love with his son.  I LOVE watching them play together.

Story Time

We have the best story time reader at our local library.  He is actually the dad of one of my former students.  He is goofy, extremely animated, and plays his guitar for the kids.  A couple of weeks ago I took Joshua for the first time and he LOVED it.  Before it started he enjoyed watching all the other kids.  Then when the reader started the story he started giggling. It was the cutest thing ever!  We went again this week and again, it was the cutest thing ever.  When he gets excited about something he says in a very excited voice "oh oh oh" or one long "ooooooohhhhh."  When the reader started reading he started making his excited "oh oh oh" noises.  When he wasn't saying "oh oh oh"he was either chattering away or listening very intently to the story.  After the story the story reader played "If You're Happy and You Know It" on his guitar.  All the kids were up and dancing and Joshua was watching and clapping.  SO CUTE!

I absolutely LOVE watching him during story time!  I never would have imagined that he would enjoy it so much at this young of an age but he sure does.  We are going to try to make this a weekly outing.
