Cousin Noah!

Three of our favorite people came for a visit last month; Daniel's sister Anna, her husband Shawn and their cute 4 month old son, Noah.  This was Noah's first trip to Colorado and our first time meeting the cute little guy.

It was so great hang out with Shawn and Anna and to spend some time getting to know our first nephew.

It was so precious watching the cousins "play. "  Joshua loved loving on Noah.  While Noah played on the floor Joshua would stop what he was doing, crawl over to Noah, love on him and then crawl back to whatever it was he was doing and then repeat a few minutes later.

"I surrender Joshua!"

There were a few times when Joshua would get a little jealous and try to crawl in the lap of whoever was holding Noah.
I used to think of Joshua as a baby until I saw this picture of Noah and Joshua with Uncle Andrew.

 Best Cousins,,,

Joshua clapping and encouraging Noah during tummy time.

Joshua learning how to be oh so gentle with little babies.

Noah worn out from tummy time.

I LOVE this picture!  Joshua giving Noah his first taste of a puzzle piece.

This picture cracks me up!  It was like Joshua saw that I was supporting Noah so he thought he would be a little dramatic to get some attention and fall backwards because no one was helping him sit.  Silly boy!

Looking forward to the day when they move back to Colorado!

Joshua's New Favorite Toy

Whenever we are at the store and Joshua sees the ball bin he always points and grunts to them.  I tell him, "When you start walking Mama will get you one of those balls."  The timing couldn't have been better; right around the time he started walking he developed an obsession with balls.

Over the weekend Daniel and I took our little J to get his new ball as promised.

He spotted the bin of balls.

"Hhmm, which one do I want?"

"I think I will take this one..."

"...and this one."

He got a large one and a regular sized one.  Of course he wanted to play with them right in the middle of Wal-Mart.  He  didn't want to be carried or sit in the cart because he wanted to be throwing, kicking and chasing his new balls.  He wasn't very happy when we had to take them away to ring them up.  He pointed to them while crying, "baw, baw, baw, baw."

"In my car seat with my new toy."

"I'm happy now that I got my 'baw' back.

He had such a blast playing with his new balls when we got home.

The ball is as big as he is.

After 20 minutes of carrying them around, throwing and chasing them he was exhausted and ready for his nap.

Water Baby

Daniel's work had their company picnic at a nice park that had a really neat stream that ran into a duck pond. Joshua, being the water baby that he is, just loved playing in the stream.

He really enjoyed looking at the ducks.  He would have crawled right into the water if I would have let him.

Since he had such a great time we decided to take him back a few week later.

And he is off to play in the stream...

He tried climbing on the rocks.

Trying to take off his shoes.  "Silly Mom, I don't wear shoes in the pool or bathtub why do I have to wear them in this stream?"

Quack Quack!
