My poor Joshua boy just wasn't his usual self for his b-day party. Early in the week he came down with a fever. I finally took him to the doctor the day before his big day and found out that he had a double ear infection (his first ear infection and it was a double one. So sad). The doctor said that he wasn't contagious and that he should be feeling better by party time. Since he woke up in a good mood and seemed to be feeling better we decided to go ahead with the party.
We did a small Mickey Mouse themed pizza party with family at the park.
Rolling up to his party! "Park!"
Notice Joshua's unfrosted "cupcake" on the left. It was a sweet potato and carrot muffin that he loves! Hey, it wouldn't be a b-day party if I didn't make him something healthy for his cake would it? In all fairness I was going to put a little frosting on it this year but things got a little busy and I didn't have time to make a healthier version of frosting for him. Oh well, he didn't mind one bit.
Of course he loved the balloons.

Auntie Brooke and Mimi adoring sweet Kayla Girl.
We were thrilled that Uncle Shawn, Auntie Anna, and Cousin Noah were in town for his b-day. He loves his cousin Noah!
Present time! It took some bribing to get him to want to open his presents. I think it was partly because he doesn't yet know that a present is something fun and also because he just wasn't feeling good. I finally had to tell him that one of his presents was a kite (from Aunt Lala and Uncle Lulu) and we had to go find it. He loves kites so that did the trick!

Opening one of Omah and Papa's presents.
Bronco football from Aunt Diane.
Kite flying time! He loved watching Uncle Lulu fly his kite! This was pretty much the only time during his party that I felt like he was acting like his happy self.

After spending an hour at the park we moved the party back to the house after the rain clouds started to roll in.
Playing with his new fish game with Omah.
Of course the adults had to get in on the action. I love this picture because it totally represents Daniel's family...everything is a good competition. They take games, all games, very seriously!
Aunt Anna can always be found holding a baby! She loves her nieces and nephews and they love her!
Update on Joshua's ear infection: His body didn't respond to the first antibiotic so they put him on something stronger (gulp, I hate having to give him an antibiotic in the first place but now something stronger?! I know it needed to be done though). He is feeling much, much better. So very happy to have my silly boy back!
Stay tuned for part 2 of J-Bows b-day!
