10 Months Old

J-Bow is 10 months old today.  Time really is flying by!

Joshua is such an easy going baby.  He is very predictable and thrives on following a schedule.

He is becoming quite the talker.  While riding in the car he keeps himself entertained chattering away. My favorite is when he randomly starts laughing.  Just today when I laid him down for a nap, I happened to walk by his room about 5 minutes later and I heard him in his crib giggling.

He loves people watching!  The other day we were eating at a restaurant and Joshua was watching two people at a near by table.  One person started laughing and he started laughing right along with them like he was apart of their conversation.

He is a thinker. He loves to study how things work.  He loves zippers, strings, buttons, drawers, basically anything with moving parts that he can play with, study, and of course put into his mouth.

Joshua is a serious Mama's boy but also loves his daddy!  It has been fun seeing the differences in my relationship with Joshua and Daniel's relationship with Joshua.  He likes to sit and cuddle with me and be crazy and goofy with daddy. Daddy can get him to laugh at almost anything.  They play and laugh a lot together.

Here are some pictures from this past month...

He really likes to watch videos of himself.  He copies what he is doing in the video.  It is great entertainment for us to watch him watch himself.

As I have mentioned in several other posts Joshua LOVES ceiling fans.  Here he is at Lowes in absolute awe of all the ceiling fans.

He is slowly getting better at finger foods.  He does great with  bigger foods like crackers, teething biscuits and homemade baked sweet potato fries.  When I offer him cut up fruits and veggies that I know he likes in puree form he will pick it up, slowly bring it to his mouth and then start making faces before it even makes it into his mouth.  But, like I said, he is getting better.  In the last few days I have seen him put food in his mouth, chew it AND swallow it all without making a face! Also, he likes to share his food with other people.

He also likes to share his food with Aspen and Aspen is happy to receive.

Laundry basket rides are the best!

I got him some plastic Easter Eggs to play with and he loves them.  He really studies them and tries really hard to put them back together.  It is amazing how long these eggs keep him busy.

Better than t.v.

He LOVES this book.  It has the names and pictures of different objects.  He likes to sit in my lap and point to different pictures while I tell him what it is.  He can point out dog and baby when you ask him.

This is what he does when you ask him, "where's your nose."  Seriously, this cracks me up.

Last but not least, I leave you with pictures of Joshua's signature goofy face...

My boy is an affectionate one

Joshua is my affectionate boy. He loves to be held and snuggled.  He gives kisses, nuzzles his head into Mom and Dad's chest and face, and he nuzzles his stuffed animals.  \

Very recently he has been starting to share his affection with his friends.

During one of our recent park excursion a little boy crawled over to Joshua and Joshua immediately gave him a hug and then kissed his forehead. Joshua kept trying to get closer and closer to him which lead to the little boy crying.  Apparently,  he didn't appreciate all the affection Joshua was dishing out.

Reaching out to give his new friend a hug.

This was right after Joshua kissed his forhead

Every week Joshua and I attend a playgroup with kids of all ages.  Joshua has a little buddy (Mason) there who is just over a year.  He has the same calm, laid back demeanor that Joshua has.  It is fun watching them interact.  They like to pet touch each other on the face and head.

At the last playgroup both boys were sitting next to each other playing with the same toy.  Joshua leaned over to his friend, gave him a hug, and then nuzzled his face up against his friend's face.  He did this a few different times.  It was the absolute sweetest thing I have ever seen!  I am so bummed that I don't have a picture.

It is so sweet watching Joshua loving on his friends.

Spring is in the air

"Mid 60's and sunny" is one of my favorite things to hear in March.  And that is exactly the kind of weather we have been having. It has been so refreshing to be able to spend a lot of time outside.  Joshua loves being outside and so do I.  Here is how we have been taking advantage of this gorgeous Spring like weather...
Going for walks and lots of them.
Going down the slide with his favorite neighbor friend, Cadence.  (Notice the unbuttoned pants and belly hanging out?!  Only when you are this cute can you pull this off.)

Swinging on his swing at home.
Joshua's first bike ride.

Playing in the rocks in the backyard.
Getting more baths.  Dirt and sunscreen make for one dirty baby at the end of the day.
Some other things Joshua has been enjoying doing outside are eating sticks, rocks, and dirt.
We all love being outside and are looking forward to the summertime!  Gardening, pool time, camping, hiking oh my!
