Halloween Fun

A few days before Halloween we went to the Fall Festival at our Church. Daniel was hunting so my sweet, sweet little sister Brooke gave up her Friday night to come hang out with us and help me with the kids.  She is always such a good help with the kids.  She always knows just what to do and keeps a good watch on them.  Plus I enjoy her company.
Cake Walk.

Carving Pumpkins.

Joshua drawing the face.

Team work cutting open the top.

Scooping out the inside.  They loved this part.  There was a lot of giggles and "eewwws."

The two big kids lost interest towards the end but not Levi.  He was all about helping Daddy all the way to the end.

The night they've all been waiting for.

Levi was so cute trying to keep up with Joshua and Kayla.  He of course didn't really understand what that candy business was all about but he sure did love it.  All he knew was people were putting treats into his bucket.  After he would get a treat he would say, "Thank you" in his deep Levi voice and then he would just stand there like he wanted to be invited in.  Everyone thought he was hilarious!  He would also check out all the pumpkins as he walked up and down the driveways.  By check out I mean put his face half an inch way from them.  Once when he came across one that wasn't lit he said, "oh man." He also was quick to tell us whose porch lights were on and off.

This was the first house we went to.  Joshua and Kayla were so excited they forgot to wait for Levi but he didn't care.  He marched right up to the first house all by himself.

Their favorite part (and yes this is what they told me their favorite part was) of the night was handing out the candy.  Joshua would run in and let us know when he saw Trick-or-Treaters coming our way.  After he would pass out candy he'd run in the house to add a tally to track how many groups of Trick-or-Treaters we got.  Passing out candy was Joshua's favorite part last year as well.  I love that they find giving just as much fun, if not more fun, than receiving.

Hard to see but this is J and K both waiting for Trick-or-Treaters.

Kayla was equally excited cheering on the Trick-or-Treaters.  She would yell, "Trick-or-Treaters I have candy."

Right before calling it a night.  He was laying in the driveway with a pillow and blanket.

What a fun night!

October

It is so hard to believe that October is over, especially with all the summer like weather we are still having.

Joshua:
*Joshua is my little math mathematician.  He is adding double digit numbers already.  Someone told him that something was in 2 months so he said, "Oh so 60 days."  He takes what he knows to figure out new concepts.  Its is amazing!

Kayla:
*Kayla has started pumping her own legs on the swing but still very much likes for me to push her.

Levi:
*He has had a huge language explosion and it is so much fun!
*He says thank you all the time.  He tells me thank you for the littlest things like putting on his socks.  Once after tightening his car seat he told me, "tight."  I told him it had to be tight to keep him safe and he said, "thank you."
*One of my favorite things he says is "want it" (in the sweetest pouty voice) when he really doesn't want something.  He has also started saying, "Oh man" and it cracks me up.

Occasionally we take the dirt road to church, the grocery store or Omah and Papa's and the kids love it.  They give a thumbs down until we hit the dirt road and then their thumbs go up.  Levi now joins in on the fun.

Mimi Boo'd the kids with lots of treats.  The kids were SO excited!

These two are such buds!  Kayla takes such good care of Levi.

Oh you know, just working on his fine motor skills during dinner.

So proud.

Breakfast with some friends from the military that we haven't seen in close to ten years.

Jumping truck batteries.

Bible time.

I have seen her sleep in this position more than once.  So sweet.

Fun with playdoh.

J told me he was earing his medium shorts, HA-HA!

Snack time!

Homemade Foosball.  They have an interesting point system going on, LOL!

Silly boy!

J made a spider web and then had to hang it and anchor it so the flies wouldn't see it moving.

Love watching these three play together.

We know how to wreck a restaurant.

This girl got stuck in the chair and was still smiling self talking her way out.  "HHMM, I could go this way, but then the chair might tip over."

Date with Mommy!  Baskin Robins...one of my favorite places I went with my Dad when I was a kid.

"Going home to see baby Benson (Her new cousin in K.C.).

Where is Levi?

Okay, this cracks me up.  They said they were watching the Broncos.  Do you see their T.V.?

Kayla's first dentist trip where she didn't cry, yay!  She kept telling me how she wasn't going to cry and that she was going to be so brave. And brave she was!

We tried potty training Levi this month.  He was so happy about his underwear.

Big bro showing him how it's done.  #bonding

After a couple of days of potty treaining we decided he just wasn't ready. We will try again in another month or so.

This is how I found him after nap the first day we stopped the potty training.  He slept surrounded by diapers.  I guess he missed them ;)

Joshua has turned our dininng room table into his desk.  He spends a lot of time here throughout the day drawing up animals, letters, maps and most recently, Bibles.  We go through paper and notebooks like you wouldn't believe.  I love getting sweet notes from him.

Caught these silly goons ziplining down the banister.  I gotta give it to them, that was pretty clever.  Clever, but still not allowed ;)

Oobleck fun! Levi refused to touch it.

Levi really likes playing cars on the dishwasher door.  He is telling me, "road" in this picture. I think he likes the bum[s that the vent provides.

Scooter tribe.

Levi heard the trash man coing and he had to run and get his chair so he could sit and watch.

These cuties having a tea party.

We went to a Motorcycle b-day party.

I was quickly scrolling through Facebook and I had to go back to this picture to see who it was.  Without knowing it was my child I thought, "Who is that cute baby?  Oh it is mine!"
