December Fun

Here is what we were up to in December.

Helping Daddy with the Christmas lights.  Joshua really wanted to get up on the roof and was thrilled when Daddy said he could.  Of course we couldn't leave Miss Kayla out.  Seeing my beauties up there sure made this Mama nervous.

He had such a blast helping me decorate the Christmas tree.

Christmas crafts and activities.

Kayla is decorating her Christmas tree...

...Joshua is decorating his Christmas snake.  Boys and their snakes.

Happy Birthday Jesus party.

Working on putting together his Christmas gifts for his neighborhood friends.

We made snowmen using marshmallows, pretzels, and chocolate chips.
No surprise but this became the requested afternoon snack.

We discovered that both kids LOVE artichokes.

Aunt Diane took all the older Nieces and Nephews for the day to make gingerbread trains.  Joshua loves going to Aunt Diane's and always has so much fun playing with his cousins.

Several times Joshua would push his chair up to the counter where
the train was and have him self a little snack by picking candy off of his train.

Comforting a sad River.

Doing one of his favorite things...wrestling.  When we went to
pick him up the older cousins told us, "Joshua is a good fighter."

While Joshua spent the afternoon at Aunt Diane's we left Levi with Omah and Papa and took Kayla out to lunch for a special Mommy, Daddy and Kayla date.

We wore her out.

Walking into church carrying her own bag.  When did she get so big?

Such a fun day when Mommy and Daddy take their sheets off their bed to wash them.  Our mattresses turns into a slide!  Hey, you have to let them get their energy out in the winter time some way.

This describes Kayla perfectly.  She is pushing her baby
and a basketball in her stroller...sugar and spice!

Going to get the mail with Daddy...in style of course.

We went and watched Omah's play her trumpet.

I took all three kids to the Rec center pool a couple of times so the kids to get out of the house and burn some energy during this cold weather.  I am loaded down like a camel carrying our gear.  I am sure we are quite a sight.  I think I might be part crazy for hauling all three kids to the swimming pool by myself. But Levi is such a gem and sleeps in his car seat for most of our visit and Kayla doesn't really venture that far.

J is in the background just coming out of the slide.

The best part is eating our lunch there and having
someone else clean up our crumbs ;)

Joshua was sick for 2 days and spent most his time on the couch.  He would wake up early in the morning and go down stairs to sleep on the couch.  One day for nap he slept 2 hours in his bed, woke up and went right back to sleep on the couch for another 2 hours.

Throwing newspaper (flies) into the spider web.

Warming his hands up by the "camp fire."

And of course no blog post is ever complete without some pictures of Joshua's creations...

I love the detail of this "train museum."

Train tracks for his Lego trains complete with a tunnel.

The train he made for him and Kayla.

The best part of December was having Daddy home form work for 17 straight days!!!  He heads back to work tomorrow and it is going to be a hard day for all of us.  But as Joshua tells us, "he will come back."
