Fearfully and Wonderfully Made: Kayla's 15 Month Update

I can't believe our little girl is 15 months old. Seems like just yesterday she was a newborn sleeping on my chest.

Here is what Kayla is up to at 15 months old...

*She loves to dance and will bust a move whenever she hears music even if it is just us singing a nursery rhyme or whistling.

* She blows kisses and makes MMMUUAHH" sound too and it is so sweet!

*We went through several consecutive weeks where she was super clingy, wanted to be held all the time and was just fussy thanks to a new molar and her having a viral fever of 103 for 4 days. So great to have my happy, playful girl back.

* She points to things and asks, "What's that?" (or at least her own version of it).

*She isn't walking yet though she has started standing up without pulling up and has just started taking 1-2 steps. She is quite the climber though.

*She takes two solid naps a day that last 2 hours each and sleeps 12 hours at night.

*She knows a few body parts (tongue, head, and belly).

*I can no longer keep bananas on the counter. She crawls over the where they are and whines for one. Of if we are carrying her she will point to them while mumbling something in a high pitch squealing voice.

*When she wants to be held she holds one of her wrist and then reaches up to you with the cutest puppy dog eyes. Daniel is a sucker for this and will stop whatever he is doing to pick her up every time.

*Her newest and perhaps her most favorite sign, is eat. She signs eat while saying "eh" or "E!" And she does this almost all day long. She signs eat when she is hungry and for more and when she wants water. A lot of times when we get her up from a nap she is standing in her crib signing eat and then says, "eh." She is an eater! She often has 2 or 3 servings at meal time and then finishes Joshua's plate. There is a common saying around here that goes, "Joshua are you going to eat that because if you aren't I know someone who will."

*Speaking of eating, she is really into feeding herself lately. Most of the time she has no interest in being fed and throws a fit if you even try to feed her something. She also very much prefers to eat of her own bowl. I out some cut up fruit on her tray and she kept pointing to a bowl and was much happier after I put her fruit in a bowl.

Don't let those pictures fool you, she only uses a utensil 1% of the time. The other 99% of the time she is eating with her hands. Yogurt, cream of wheat, oatmeal, yep she uses her hands.

*Whatever cup Joshua has for the day she wants. If I give her the same cup J had the previous day it doesn't matter she wants his current cup. She points to it and fusses like she is so thirsty, when we give it to her she just holds it and is content as can be. She does this with my water bottle too. She points to it and signs please.

*She makes car noises (VVVVVV) while playing with her brothers cars. She also points to Daniels weed eater and vacuum and tries to mimic the sounds they make.
