He loves to go to her first thing in the morning, is always asking to hold her, talks to her, loves on her, reads her books, brings her her toys and he even lets her play with his favorite toys.
Most of the time Joshua is so understanding of her ways. He usually doesn't mind when she chews on his toys or pulls his hair and grabs at his face. One day Joshua was sitting next to me watching TV while I was nursing Kayla and she was kicking her little feet in his arm and he didn't even flinch.
I was talking to Joshua about protecting Kayla when she gets older. I asked, "What will you do if someone takes Kayla's toy while we are playing at the park." Joshua said so serious, "I will take the toy and hit the kid!" We are still working on appropriate ways to protect her but I love that he will seek justice for his little sister.
Initially he still isn't too thrilled when someone else other than Mommy or Daddy holds her and still says, "Mommy hold her!" But once he sees that Mommy and Daddy are okay with other people holding her he moves on.
Here are some pictures of the cute duo...
So happy to see her enjoying her jumper.
Giving her her ball.

When Joshua was building this master piece of a tower I told him that when Kayla gets a little older she will probably knock his towers over (trying to prepare him for all the fun that comes with having a mobile little sibling). His response? "But that's okay!" This little girl might be able to get away with pretty much anything when it comes to her big brother.
Monday is laundry day around here so every Monday morning Joshua gets to take a basket ride down the stairs with all the laundry. He loves it! Kayla has recently joined Joshua and Joshua thinks it is so neat to have her ride with him.
He wanted to eat his lunch on Kayla's tray.
I made Joshua this cardboard fort and he loves playing in it. Often times he will ask for Kayla to come play in it with him.
I LOVE when I find him reading to his sister.
Showing sister girl how to play with farm animals.
He thought it was the coolest thing to have Kayla go in his tunnel
Holding Kayla's toy so she could chew on it.
The kids were in the garage enjoying a nice thunderstorm while Daniel and I were making dinner. When I went to peak on them Joshua was sitting right next to Kayla with his arm on her (of course he moved his arm by the time I got my camera.) When it would thunder he would say to her, "Whoa, that was a big one Kayla!"
These two are going to be best buddies! Kayla is sure blessed to have Joshua for a big brother.
