Solid Foods

Kayla got her first taste of food this week...sweet potatoes.  She seemed very excited about it and did really well.  When she saw the spoon she'd lean in for it then she would lick the food and chew on the spoon.  After a few bites I gave her a break so I could eat some of my food.  I happened to look over at her and she was leaning forward like she was just waiting for another bite.

I think she enjoyed the experience and the taste of the food, however I think the texture and the swallowing were definitely something that surprised her.  Every now and again she would gag and make really funny faces. 

"I am not too sure what that was but I think I like it."

 

Joshua was so excited for her and of course wanted to help feed her.  I have been telling him that she was going to start eating food and we were going to give her sweet potatoes and avocado first so after a few bites of sweet potatoes he said, "Give her some avocado." 

I love Joshua's face!  He was just so happy for his sister.
