September Recap

Once again, we had another fun filled and busy month.

Update on the big kids...

Joshua:
*Joshua continues to love homeschooling and learning new things.
*He is starting to get more and more small chores and really does them with a happy heart...most times.
*He is so full of energy and lately has been quiet the thrill seeker.
*He can count to 100 by 1's, 5's, and 10's.  He also likes to talk about really big numbers, like one hundred, one thousand, and some are made up like, gillain, and a killian.

Kayla:
*Continues to keep herself busy caring for her babies.  It is absolutely amazing how long she stays busy just changing her baby's diaper.  I love that she loves baby's so much because that is exactly how I was as a little girl.  When we go to other peoples' houses she can be found putting all the babies and stuffed animals down for bed in all the different rooms of the house.  If there are no babies around she will find something to make a baby out of.  For instance, she once was cradling a shoe and pretending it was a baby.  Another time a neighbor boy came over and let her play with a his toy gun that makes fun noises.  Shortly after playing with it she was cradling it telling me, "this baby."
*She is so sweet and thoughtful.  Often during mealtime I get a random, "thank you Mommy" or "delicious."  One day when I was trying on clothes she looked at me and said, "looks pretty Mommy."  She will also ask Daniel, "How was your day?" When he gets home from work.
*During dinner she likes to pray.  She clothes her eyes real tight and really concentrates on her words.  Lately she has been praying that Joshua and baby feel better since they were sick a few weeks ago.
*When we tell her it is time for her to do something she doesn't want to do she will often respond with, "Me still eating" even when she isn't even eating.  She will be playing with toys and when it is time to put on shoes to leave, "me still eating."

And now for some pictures.

Kayla got her first hair cut by our family's best barber...Daddy.  She has grown up watching Daddy cut Joshua's hair and now Levi's so she was pretty excited to get her first little trim.  We had to cut her hair in two phases because she was getting antsy.  She did okay for the first 10 minutes or so but then she just wanted to be done.  She pointed tot he buzzer and asked Daddy to use it on her hair. HEE-HEE!

Walking the plank.

We had 3 BBQ's during labor day weekend.  What better way to say goodbye to summer than that?!

My sweetest girl celebrating Labor Day number 2.

I love where she put her corn.

S'mores and a fire with my favorite big boy.

Mr. J has the biggest sweet tooth ever!!!  Not sure where he gets that from at all ;)  Just kidding, I totally know.  Anyway, after I told him he was all done with the s'mores someone offered him one.  I wasn't even around but my honest little boy told them that he couldn't have anymore.

Our DIY card holder for small hands.

Joshua took his very first cooking class and had such a blast!  He had been looking forward to this Little Chef's class for a very long time.  He likes to help me in the kitchen and especially loves taking tastes.

It is hard to see in the picture but he is pointing to his name on his apron.

I showed up a little early to pick him up so that I could peak in on him.  Here they are eating their yummy food.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this class.  I thought they were going to do something easy peasy like through some sauce on pasta.  But they had a full course meal with lasagna rolls ups, Italian green beans, focaccia bread and brownie biscotti for dessert....ALL FROM SCRATCH.

He got to bring home a plate for the family to try.  He saved a special piece of the biscotti for Daddy. On the way home as he was holding the biscotti he told me, "I am really tempted to eat this."  But he didn't.
Giving daddy a taste.

Joshua learned how to pump his legs on the swing all by himself and for a while that is all he wanted to do.  It was a really exciting milestone for all of us.

Always looking to jump off  and over something.

Doesn't Kayla know these diapers are expensive ;)

Playing a game that Joshua made up in which I will never ever win because he keeps making up/changing the rules in his favor as we go along.

Spiked his hair with a whole lot of lotion.

Some homeschooling action.  Kayla is loving doing school with us.

My sassy girl enjoying breakfast on the deck.

Omah and Papa are replacing the spindles on their stair case so they gave the kids their old ones to play with.  They just knew that they would come up with something creative to do with them and sure enough they did...
Joshua decided to make a tent with them.  This is how it started.

And eventually his tents started to look like this.  Him and the neighbor kids come up with some pretty impressive designs.  I love watching his imagination run wild.  Papa asked, "Does his mind ever rest?"  No it doesn't which means mine doesn't either ;)

She always has a baby.

Feeding the ducks...

We ce;ebrated Grandparents day by making the meal Joshua learned how to make in his cooking class.  He was so excited to make it for Omah and Papa.  Sadly, I didn't get a picture of our guest of honor.

All cozy in her blanket.

When the Broncos have a night game the kids get to stay up a little later to make popcorn and watch a few minutes of the game.  They absolutely love this little tradition.  They both put on their Bronco jerseys over their pj's...adorable fans they are.
This picture is a bit blurry but I just love Kayla's face. She gets so giddy and overjoyed eating popcorn and watching Broncos.

My little shopping buddy.  You wouldn't believe how many comments she got on how cute she was pushing her stroller.

Watching a high school softball game.  She said, "Me going to play that when I'm bigger."  We cant wait  to watch you play and cheer you on baby girl.

We ended the month with this little guy being miserable as could be as a new molar tries to come in.  One morning he was so cranky and out of desperation I pulled out his swing that he is clearly too big for but hey, it gave me about 5 minutes of peace and quiet.
