The Big Kids Go Camping

Daniel took Joshua and Kayla camping and they had so much fun!  This was Kayla's first camping experience and she did awesome!

The days leading up to their big trip they were so excited.  Kayla would tell me, "There might be snakes!" I don't think she quite knew what to expect but she sure was excited.

We made our traditional (and by traditional I mean we started this last camping trip) flashlight lanterns with the verse "Your Word is a lamp to my feet and light to my path" Psalm 119:105 and we talked about how The Bible is like our flashlight and helps lead us where we need to go.

The morning of their trip.  They were practicing sleeping in sleeping bags.  Think they were excited or what?!

While practicing they decided to put small toys in their sleeping bags to go and find.  Joshua got lost in his sleeping bag twice and panicked, like crying and sweating.  Kayla got lost once but quickly found her way out.  Well, the morning they woke up while camping Daniel said the first things Kayla said was, "Me didn't get lost!"

On the way up they kept saying, "we're going camping!!!"

Daniel said that both kids were so exited to go to sleep and when they finally did Kayla said as she was in her sleeping bag, "Me sleeping next to daddy!"

They had a great night.  Daniel said it took a little while to fall asleep because Kayla kept telling jokes and would make them both crack up.  Joshua woke up at 5 am saying he was cold so Daniel out on his fleece pj's and then Kayla woke while they were doing that so Daniel put her fleece on too and then they went back to sleep until 7.

She never stops being "Mama Kay-Kay!"

Good morning!

When they got home the first thing both of them was seek out Levi and they were bummed to learn that he was napping.

When I asked Kayla what she did she said, "Me sleep!"  When I asked her what else she said, "wake up!"  I guess sleeping in the tent really was her favorite part.

So fun!  I cant wait until Levi gets older and we can all go as a family!!!
