Joshua's 4th B-day Bash

Because Joshua's b-day falls on a day where the weather can be totally iffy we decide to do his party a couple of weeks after his actual b-day.  It was a cloudy morning but it turned out to be perfect swimming weather for his party.

Joshua was so excited to have another b-day.  We got to the pool a little early to set up camp.  As Joshua was getting some rocks for me to anchor down the napkins he tripped on some concrete steps and scraped both knees and his elbow.  He wailed and wailed.  He doesn't handle owies too well.  Shortly after we finally got him calmed down he realized his elbow was bleeding and he lost it again and just would not stop crying.  Daniel finally had to take him to the car where they spent a good amount of time trying to calm down.  I was starting to think he wasn't going to get to enjoy his party.  Uncle Andrew and Aunt Anna showed up with the pizza and finally all was well with the b-day boy.

Joshua's dino cake, as requested.  By far the easiest cake I have had to make.  As I was making his cake he told me, "Thank you for working on my cake Mommy."  He was so excited to see the final product.

He was quite pleases with the final product.

The clouds started rolling in after the kids were able to get a good amount of swimming in and then it started sprinkling so we decided it was the perfect time to do cake.

After the party some of our family came back to the house for a bit.  When everyone left Joshua was quietly playing with some of his new b-day toys so Daniel and I decided to let him skip his nap and let him continue to play.  He played so well by himself for so long creating and building with his new toys.

Later that afternoon we went over to our friends house for dinner where the kids played and played and didn't get to bed until 9pm!  Thankful for my sister who came to the house and stayed with Levi so we could still get him down at his normal time.  WHEW!  No nap for J and a late bedtime, he was exhausted the next day.  But they had so much fun and as Daniel and I said as we left our friend's house, "That is what summer is all about!"
