Annual Camping Trip with Daddy

Daniel took the two big kids on their yearly camping trip and to say they had a blast would be a major understatement!!!  These two could not have been more excited about their camping trip.  They were counting down the weeks and then days and telling everyone about it.  The morning that they were going to leave Joshua came into our bedroom and told Daniel, "0 more days!!!"  Then while they were camping Daniel said Joshua kept saying, "Daddy, we are camping!!!"   

 

 

Kayla was most looking forward to sleeping in the tent.  Way before bedtime she was asking if they could go to bed.  Then she finally just went in the tent to "take a nap." 

 

Another cute story about sweet Kayla Grace...while her and Daddy were waiting for J to go potty Kayla just started softly bouncing and then she told Daddy, "this is what I do when I have a baby."  Sweet girl is always thinking about her babies :)

The next morning Levi and I drove up to crash their party :)  Levi loved rolling around in their tent. 

 

After tearing down camp, which Joshua was a big help in helping Daddy take down the tent, we spent some time at the swim beach.   

 

 

Shortly before they went camping there was a fire ban!  BOO, fires are what make camping!  They made the best of it and cooked their food and s'mores on Papa's camping stove. The kids were bummed about not being able to have a fire but they made the best of it.   Joshua said, "In a way this is more fun."  I love his positive outlook.  A weekend or so later we set up the tent in our backyard, had a fire, cooked hot dogs over the fire and of course roasted s'mores to make up for not being able to have a campfire.  We even had chips for Kayla to throw in to the fire.  Last year when they went I guess Daniel told them they could throw the chips in the fire that fell on the ground and that was one of her favorite memories from that trip.  She kept talking about how excited she was to throw chips into the fire.
