May 2016

A few notes from this month.
Kayla:
*Still loves playing house.  She stays busy for hours taking care of babies.  If I want to make her day all I have to do is bring her a doll and ask, "can you watch my baby?"  She delights in that.  Sometimes when I am playing with her she will ask if she can feed my baby, put my baby down and so on until she slowly just takes over.  I just love watching Kayla play house.  When I was a kid it was my absolute favorite thing to play, that and school.  I played both way longer than most kids my age I believe and I hope Kayla does too.
*One funny thing when playing house with her is she refers to me as kid.  "Okay kid you food is ready."
*Sometimes when she is pretending to be talking on the phone she will tell me to say to me, "Say Mommy."  When I do she responds with, "Just a minute" or "I am on the phone."
*So many times in the day when I call her by name I am corrected, "No I am Mommy."
*One day when I went to check on her and Levi who were playing together.  When I couldn't find Levi I asked Kayla where he was.  She told, "He hit me so I put him in timeout."  Along with disciplining her brother I catch her trying to put on his shoes and even sharing her special bear with him.  She is so good to him.

Levi:
*Levi loves his big siblings.  It just warms my heart to see him smile at them and give them both a big "HIIII!" in the mornings.
*I love watching him give Joshua and Kayla random hugs.
*When ever he finds a water bottle he walks it over to the rightful owner saying their names.
*The way he says Kayla is the cutest!
*He is fearless, knows no limits and his motto seems to be, "anything you can do I can do better."  I can not take my eye off of him for one second.

Joshua:
*Joshua has discovered quarter machines at the grocery store and saves every quarter he can get his little hand on.  He likes to earn them by doing chores around the house.  He is starting to learn the hard part about saving up for something you really want vs spending your money right away and how you just can't do both.  He often thinks about buying things for his friends and siblings.  He talks about saving his money to buy Kayla a baby and shark for his friend who likes sharks.  I love that he is so thoughtful.
*He is into trying to draw different animals.  We started looking at step by step drawings on the internet and then went to the library and got a few how draw books.

Why does this boy look like he is big enough to be in kindergarten?

Drawing.

Parker and Riley spent a day and a half with us.  Fun times with good friends.

Water guns with snow in the background...in May.

Levi thinks the neighbor boys are hilarious.  He belly laughs at almost anything they do.  When he sees them he automatically starts doing something silly for them.  They are so good with Levi and such a big help when they come over to play.

There goes my two babes.

Kayla stopped at about stair 20 and let J go to the top by himself.

Joshua in orange almost to the top.  I can't believe he did it all by himself.  When he was close to the top he started coming back down, then turned back around and finished.  When I asked him about it later he said he was going to quit then decided, "I want to climb 200 steps."

Sweet, sweet, baby chub!

Family hike up Castle Rock.

Kayla stopped to rest, told me to take her picture, then as she looked down to pose as she sighed in exhaustion.  She was being so dramatic about being tired.

Joshua and Daddy went to the top of the rock while Kayla, Levi and I played at the base.
When I told J to be careful and not goof around he said, "Like this" as he stuck one arm and one leg out and acted like he was going to fall.

And they made it.  Daniel said he was a great rock climber.  No surprise there.

Mother's Day

We had my Mom over for breakfast on Saturday and then my boys and girl took me to breakfast on Sunday.

Aunt Sydney and her Mini Me.

Feeding the ducks.

Levi would wind up his arm like he was going to throw the bread and then bring it around to his mouth and eat it.

SLIDES SLIDES SLIDES!  Levi loves slides.  The bigger, higher and faster the better.  He loves the thrill.

Levi gets in this cupboard, shuts the door and just giggles.  He loves when we say, "where is Levi?"

Joshua and one of his traps.

That time of year again.  The kids love watching the hot air balloons ride by so close to the house.

Partners in crime.

Levi and his first (I think it was his first one) sucker that he got when we went to the bank.  The 3rd child has no idea how much they have it made.  I don't think Joshua had a sucker until he was 3 (okay maybe not 3 but I am sure he was older than Levi).  With the first I didn't want him to have all that sugar and food dye garbage.  With the 3rd I don't like him having suckers because I don't want him to get a sugar high before nap.  HAHA!

Everyone tasting everyone's sucker.

They got into the game cabinet and I just watched as they all entertained themselves peacefully for a bit.

We had a bear come through our backyard and get into the trash.  Here is a picture of one of the paw prints he left behind.  He was later sighted near my Mom's house.

After Kayla woke up from Nap Daddy asked her for some help with something.  She so badly wanted to help him but her baby needed to be changed.  She was torn between what to do.  Motherhood took priority.

He loves this!

T-R-O-U-B-L-E!!! Especially when he climbs on the tables, stands and then claps for himself.

This is what snack time looks like at our house.

Apparently it is more fun to play IN the bean tub.

Waiting for the trash man.

Elefun!

What a character.

One of his favorite things is to put the stroller on the coffee table and then push it off and crack up laughing.

Opening day at the pool

Dinner with Parker and Riley.

Love that ham we call Levi.

Levi is a fan of corn on the cob.

Enjoying some pretend pancakes with Bear.

Impressed that Daddy can juggle.

I ran in a Veterans 5K with my friend and was 34 seconds away from placing gin the top 5.

Whew, that was a lot of pictures.  Until next month....
