August Fun

The last full month of summer sure did bring us a lot of fun.

Neighborhood block party. We a lot of fun getting to know our new neighbors.  I have always wanted to live on a street that gets together for block parties.

Chowing down on some summertime fruit.

Trying to make her way to the big kids.

Kayla had a runny nose so we took her into the service with us one weekend at church instead of dropping her off at the nursery.  She sure felt like a queen sitting in her own chair.

Kayla started walking!

One day she just decided to walk everywhere.  On this particular day she discovered how much she loves playing basketball.

Mimi took Joshua to the Children's Museum and he had an absolute blast!

They took the Light Rail (AKA the train.)  Mimi said Joshua really liked waving at the cars on the overpass and having them honk at him.

Not quite sure what to think of the train yet.

Mimi packed him a lunch in his new lunch box.

Omah and Papa took Joshua to the fair parade and then the rodeo which of course he is still talking about.

Our favorite out of towners came in for a visit...Auntie Anna, Uncle Shawn, Noah and Giovanni.  We had such a great time with them.  The boys enjoyed playing, Mom and Aunt Anna enjoyed lunch and pedicures, among other things and of course just spending time as a family.

Both the big boys love trains so we thought it would be fun to take them to the train museum.

The boys probably could have just played at the train table all day.

BBQ at Uncle Andrew and Aunt Anna's house to celebrate Aunt Anna's b-day.

Sweet cousins.
 Library time fun.

 Story time.

Omah and Papa watched all four grandbabies while we spent the day in the Springs with Shawn and Anna.  What awesome and brave grandparents.
The Springs.

Lunch time with Omah and Papa.

Sweet smiles.

Aunt Anna snuggles.

Fun at Omah and Papa's house.

Omah and her babies.

Giovanni took Kayla's bow out of her hair and then
chewed on it.  By the look on her face, she didn't
appreciate if one bit.

Omah, Papa, Uncle Andrew, Aunt Anna, Auntie Anna, Noah, and Giovanni joined us at our community pool for lunch and swimming.

Splash park.

Joshua loves Giovanni!  The last time we saw him he was just rolling. and Joshua would always ask to put him on the floor so we would watch him roll around.  Joshua said to me the other day, "One day Levi will roll like Giovanni used to roll."

Some random pictures from this month.

They both think it is hilarious to walk round
with blankets on their heads.

Freeing toys frozen in a block of ice.

Dinner at Chili's.

Joshua loves building forts.  He has to use every
blanket and pillow he can find.

We made Gak and Joshua loves it!  It keeps him busy for quite some time.

Kayla likes to pull it apart and make it snap.  She also likes to try and sneak some in her mouth when Mom isn't looking.  She is still learning that Mom has eyes in the back of her head and sees everything :)

Making his own lunch.

Building a "tall tower!"

One day Joshua put his arm around Kayla and said, "Come on Kayla, let's go play trains."  And so off they went.  This warmed my heart because normally if Kayla gets within 3 feet of his train tracks he gets very panicked.

Wrestling with the neighbor boys.

Joshua hasn't had much interest  in riding his bike except for his tricycle down in the basement which he is really good at since it is nice and level.  One day I brought his bike down there and he loved it.  After two days of riding it in the basement he said, "I want to ride my bike on our walk."  I didn't think we would get very far on it outside but we decided to let him try.  He rode the whole way which was just under a mile.  My boy is growing up!  He still needs a good push going up hill but he is catching on fast.
