We celebrated Kayla's 1st birthday with lunch at our house with family. Here are some pictures from her special day!
The spread....
Mimi and her first Granddaughter.
Auntie Brookie and Auntie Sydney
Aunt Diane reading the book that she gave to Joshua.
Aunt Anna with the b-day girl.
The cake...She really enjoyed her cake and ate almost all of it with Joshua's help.
"YEA, my cake is coming!"
"Hey, wait! Don't light it on fire!"
LOVE Joshua's genuine look of excitement here.
"Mom, Joshua is eating my cake!"
"Hey, give that bite back, it's my cake!"
Joshua giving Kayla a bite of cake.
"I see you eyeing my cake Auntie Brooke!"
Presents...
Of course Kayla had no interest in opening present. Joshua helped her open the first gift and then he quickly moved on to his own thing.
Bringing the baby in for kisses.
She was SO cute with the baby. She kept wrapping her arms around it and swaying with it. It was one of the sweetest things I have ever seen. It is funny how you don't have to teach certain things to kids, they just have that instinct.
This big brother was so excited for Kayla's big day. On the day of her actual birthday he would sing Happy Birthday to her. Daniel took Joshua to the store to buy her a balloon and not once did he ask for balloon for himself (which he almost always does when we go to this particular store). He figured out a way to attach the balloon to her so it wouldn't fly away and then said, "Kayla, you look so pretty!" Then on the day we had her party he would tell her, "Kayla, its your party day!" and He loved seeing all the decorations. Not once did he ever get jealous. So proud of this big boy! Uncle Andrew brought over his remote control car for Joshua to play with and of course he had a blast with it.
Happy, happy birthday to our blue eyed, Ginger girl who is as sweet and happy as can be and who always has a smile to give. You make our heart happy! We are blessed beyond words to be your Mommy and Daddy! We love you oh so very much!
