Joshua's First Trip to the Zoo

Over the weekend we took Joshua to the zoo for the first time.  The morning we went he kept saying "zoo." When we asked him what we were going to see at the zoo he'd say, "amals."

Here are some pictures from Joshua's first zoo excursion.

The lion kept walking right up against the glass.

"I'm outta here!"  He wasn't too sure about being face to face with the lion.  He would go up to the glass as the lion walked away and then turn around and walk away when the lion got right in his face.

I love this picture.  He looks so big leaned up against the wall watching the peacock.

"I will show you the way Daddy!"

Watching the monkeys.

Had to stop to play in a puddle of course.

Loved the the bongos.

His favorite was the fish.

He will always find someone to give a hug to.  Such an affectionate boy.

My handsome boy!

If you ask him about the elephant he will tell you all about the elephant poop he saw. HA-HA!  The conversation usually goes something like this...

Me- "Did you see an elephant at the zoo?"
Joshua- "Poop!"
Me- "The elephant pooped?"
Joshua- "A LOT!"

As we were leaving the zoo he was all sorts of goofy.  I asked him if he had fun and he just giggled.  We asked him what he saw at the zoo and he said, "Papa! Elmo!"  No he did not see either at the zoo.  Silly boy!

Later that day he played with his barn and barnyard animals at home calling it the zoo.  So cute! Then today he woke up from his nap saying, "zoo."  I think he wants to go back.

We are looking forward to our next zoo visit.
