Here is an update on my sweet Joshua boy at 20 months old.
- There isn't anything this boy doesn't say. He can even hold a mini conversation. Some of the phrases he's been saying lately that I think are pretty funny are "Okay, now what?" and "How are ya?" And when you ask him it back he says, "good." We also occasionally get some unprompted "I love yous."
- He is such a routine boy. If we lay him down for bed and forget something that we normally do (pray, brush his teeth, read the Bible) he will remind us as we are laying him down.
- Here is the conversation we have almost every morning when I get him up...
J- "Dada?"
Me- "Where is dada?"
J- "Work!"
Me- "Yea, Dada is at work."
J- "Lalor." (Later)
Me- "Yea Daddy will come home later."
J- "Eat."
Me- "Yes, when daddy gets home we will eat dinner." - He loves his Daddy. They throw the football to each other, play chase, hide 'n' seek, and Daddy gives Joshua lots of piggy back rides.
- He loves giving hugs. His hugs are always followed by knuckles and then a high five.
- He LOVES LOVES LOVES football. When Daniel has sports radio on in the car he exclaims, "football!" He was looking through a football children's book and pointed to one of the players and said, "Elway!" I had to hide his Jersey otherwise he would want to wear it every day and it is getting quit snug on him.
- He has a big appetite. Some days I feel like I am feeding him all day long.
- He has such a fun sense of humor!
Joshua loves to be outside. Last week we had really nice weather and he played outside pretty much all morning and then after his nap he was right back at it. I love that he likes playing outside so much; even by himself. It allows me to get dinner on or knock out a quick chore.
Doing some digging.
Poor Dog walking up the stairs...
...poor dog going down the slide. WEEE!
He wanted to take the new double stroller to the park one day. He kept pointing to the back saying, "baby." I think he is ready for his sister to join us on our walks.
Watering the plants.
He will randomly stop what he is doing, get real quiet and then give us this silly look out of the corner of his eye. It makes us laugh every time.
There it is again.
He still really enjoys reading. I love when he brings a book and says, "read it" then he scoots back to sit in my lap. After we finish one book he goes and gets me another. We usually sit and rock and read books for about 20 minuets after breakfast each morning. I have really been cherishing that special time knowing that it will be much more difficult to have those times with him here shortly.
Playing a computer game. He hits any key and different animals pop up and make noises. He loves it!
He's recently gotten into puzzles. He does them all by himself and he is really fast.
It is not unusual to find him like this after his nap.
Play dough
He counts to two. I love hearing him randomly count his toys "one, two, one, two, one, two" as he points to each item.
Counting his screwdrivers.
Buddies!
Doing a little reading while breaking in baby sister's swing.
Bubble fun in the sink.
