KC Thanksgiving Visit

For Thanksgiving we took a little road trip to Kansas City, MO to visit cousins.  The kids were so excited leading up to the trip and they all did really well in the car.

A few days before we left Joshua and Kayla took the initiative to load up our car with snacks and toys.
Here is Kayla all packed with two backpacks...a few days before the trip.

And we are off...

We love audio books.

We made a chain countdown.  They ripped off one link every hour.  I thought this would eliminate the "how many more minutes" question.  Instead I got asked, "how many more minutes until we can tear another one off?"

Joshua has been complaining that his seat belt is too tight.  He rigged this set up right before leaving.  The rope pulls the seat belt off of his chest ever so slightly.

I was a bit nervous about traveling 9-10 hours with the kids sitting all right next to each other.  I saw this idea online and thought it was genius.  It worked so well when they were all getting agitated and annoying one another (wait, what?  Annoy each other?  my kids?  Never?!...I lie).  Particular right before they all crashed for a nap.  When we put up their "cubicles" they started telling knock knock jokes through them.  So cute.  They also were allowed to color on them.

All the kids just love their new baby cousin Benson.  He is the best baby ever hardly every crying and such a good sleeper.  We hardly knew he was there.

I loved seeing all the cousins eat all their meals at this bar.

Omah, Papa, Uncle Andrew, Aunt Anna H., and Jeremiah joined us in K.C, the next day.
10 minutes after arriving and Omah was already doing a craft with the kids.

More Benson love.

We hiked around the neatest park.
While hiking Joshua discovered this fort.

We also played at the funenst ropes park.  The adults had more fun than the kids.  We played at this park 3 times in 3 days.  Of course it was all for the kids :)  We even joked about coming back at nap time so we could play alone.  Well some joked, I was serious.

Benson and his Mama.

Movie and popcorn.

Shopping buddies.

They got a kick out of riding in eachothers cars.

Joshua made this card for his friends back home during his quiet time.  (I love you.  To Cayden and Brennan).
