Kayla's B-day Celebrations

Kayla has been talking a lot about her b-day.  She was always telling us on March 28th it would be her b-day and she would be 3.  A few days before her b-day Daddy hid her b-day present so when we would talk about her b-day she would say, "and then I get my surprise!"

We started the morning of her b-day out by walking into her room and singing Happy Birthday to her.  She responded by grabbing bear, burying her face in her pillow and crying.  As she sobbed on daddy's shoulder she said through her tears, "You guys scared me."  Birthday fun fail.

After she perked up we came down stairs and enjoyed some special b-day pancakes complete with sprinkles.

Showing us that she is 3.

For dinner we took her to Sweet Tomatoes because what kid doesn't like all you can eat mac and cheese and ice cream?

That weekend we had her birthday bash with family and her neighborhood friends.  She felt so special that day and was just so excited.  As new guest arrived she ran up and hugged them in excitement.  A few hours before her party she was asking, "when the people going to come?"

She was watching her picture slide sure just giggling and squealing.

Loving on her doggie from Omah and Papa.  She actually found where Omah hid this present at her house and Omah told her it was just a present for someone.  Kayla was smart enough to suspect that that someone was her.  When she would talk about her b-day she would say that maybe she was getting a doggie in a purse.  She knows she is the only girl in the family right now :)

Thoughtful Aunt Diane always comes with presents for the siblings too.

She got a little bashful while we were singing happy b-day to her.  She ended up blowing out her candle half through the song.  I figured she blew it out because she wanted us to be done.  Later that night we were talking about how fun her b-day.  She told me how she blew out her candle while we were still singing and when I asked her why she said, "Because I wanted it to be over."  When I asked her what her favorite part was she said, "the cupcakes."  When I asked again a different time she said, "the presents."  Funny too because after her nap she saw one of her new toys and said, "Somebody left this here."

Swapping sunglasses with Mark.

Playing catch with snowballs.  I love the progression of these next pictures.

Yes that birthday girl is wearing pj pants.  At some point during her party she changed into her pj pants for no reason at all.  All she could tell me was she couldn't find her pants.  I think what happened was she took them off in her room to go potty, forgot where she put them and then just grabbed pj pants.   It's her party and she can do what she wants :)

We love you sweet ray of sunshine!
