September Happenings

We had Omah and Papa over for dinner to celebrate Grandparents Day.

Waiting for the Guests of Honor. Their reaction when Omah pulled up was priceless.  Joshua ran to her car and Kayla was just so giddy and smiley.

Joshua was such a big help preparing for dinner.  He set the table.  Complete with name placement cards and all.  He was so proud!

Playing the Bee game.

We have been enjoying playing with shaving cream.  The kids love it and really, I do too.  I know it looks messy, and it is, but it is such easy clean up.  Kayla loves to get a bunch in her hands and just rub them together like its lotion.  She is always asking for, "mmmmore!"

We took a "field trip" to Petsmart to look at all the animals.  Kayla's favorite thing was the fish or the iesh, as she calls them.  Everything we saw was iesh.  She was giddy walking through the store pointing to everything.

Watching the dogs get groomed.

Joshua andI went out to IHOP to spend some quality time together before Baby Brother arrives.

Joshua first picked out the picture of a regular pancake that had a smiley face made out of fruit.  Then he quickly changed his mind and pointed to a chocolate pancake with a smiley face made out of whipped cream topped with chocolate chips.  I asked why he wanted that one and he said, "because I like those" as he pointed to the chocolate chips.  He topped it off with blueberry and boysenberry syrup.

While we waited for our food we played with these
magnetic sticks building different things.

While at breakfast Joshua told me that he wanted to have his 5th b-day party at IHOP.  When I asked about his 4th b-day he said we will celebrate that one at Bison Park.

I really cherish the times when I get to focus on one child at a time.

Baby Levi Celebration.

My Mother in Law and Aunt Diane threw Daniel and me a wonderful baby shower for Levi where the whole family, men included, were invited.  It was a great time!

Can you guess who took a nap at Aunt Diane's and who didn't?

I told Joshua he could have a banana blueberry popsicle that we made.  He opened the freezer and pulled these out declaring he wanted one of these instead.  I can't deny that face!

We got a new blow up pool and the first time I blew it up the kids had the best time just romping around in it without water.

We finally made it outside and put water in it where it proved to be just as much fun full as empty.

Joshua put his towel around his waist "like Daddy does."  He reminds me of Kevin from Home Alone in this picture.

Kayla took a liking to green smoothies and goes crazy for them.  She calls them, "Mimi."

Painting their cardboard box fort.

Joshua has really been into riding his bike and is getting so good and confident on it.  He rides it on our family walks now.  He also rides it around and around the cul-de-sac.

Joshua sharing his toys with Levi already ;)

Joshua is such a creative boy.  He loves constructing new things.  He comes up with the most elaborate designs with his train tracks.  Almost everyday he spends a good amount of time tearing apart his current design to rebuild another one.  He would much rather create with his tracks then actually play with the trains.  He has also been building and creating like crazy with his large wood blacks.  The things he comes up with always amazes us.
One of his recent creations with small foam blocks...a fish.  I love how he sorted all the colors.

Checking out a spider, which we later discovered was a black widow.

Bath time!

And of course our sweet Levi was born this month!

The kids had so much fun with Omah and Papa while we were in the hospital.  Here they are making mud pies.

Waiting for her brother to be born.

Our first fun outing as a family of 3...pumpkin patch/farm.

Feeding the goats.

Levi was totally unimpressed ;)
